ASUS OLED laptops maintain a 100% DCI-P3 color gamut at high and low brightness levels, while the color gamut is significantly reduced in standard LCD laptops at lower brightness levels. At 16G gray level brightness, LCD laptops have a DCI-P3 color gamut of just 11%, while ASUS OLED laptops maintain a DCI-P3 color gamut of 100%.

Blue light is known to cause visual discomfort and disrupt sleep quality. However, due to the nature of the special organic light materials in the OLED display, ASUS OLED laptops emit 70% less harmful blue light and are TÜV Rheinland and SGS certified. Because babies’ eyes are not fully developed, with a more transparent lens and cornea, harmful blue light can penetrate the eyes more easily, which can cause premature aging of the retina. In conventional LCD screens, detail and color quality usually deteriorate dramatically as brightness decreases. But ASUS OLED laptops are able to display great detail at low brightness settings due to their high contrast and ability to maintain a wide color gamut at low brightness. ASUS OLED laptops can maintain good color reproduction at any brightness level, so you can freely adjust screen brightness to suit your working environment, while still enjoying exceptionally vivid colors. For example, in a living room environment (usually lit with about 100 lux), you only need 177 nits brightness in an OLED screen to produce the same clear picture as 400 nits brightness in an LCD screen. At the lower brightness levels required on OLED screens, the blue light emitted is less harmful.

ASUS OLED laptops perfectly reproduce black. An OLED pixel consists of three sub-pixels, each of which is self-luminous: a 4K display (3840 x 2400) has 9,216,000 pixels, which means it has 27,648,000 self-illuminating subpixels, compared to just a few dozen LEDs. For a display, response time is the time it takes for one color to change to another: the faster the time, the better the motion is reproduced. The chart below shows the color transition from purple to blue. On an ASUS OLED, this transition takes only 0.2ms, while on an LCD, it could take 10ms or more. This makes a huge difference, since OLED images and colors look true most of the time a frame is displayed, while LCD images can be blurry during the transfer process.
